The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) promotes an efficient, viable, and inclusive nonprofit sector that supports the growth, learning, and development of young professionals. Recently named one of "10 Nonprofits to Watch in 2012" by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, the organization engages and supports future nonprofit and community leaders through professional development, networking and social opportunities designed for young people involved in the nonprofit community.
Last October, YNPN published Good in Theory, Problems in Practice: Young professionals’ views on popular leadership development strategies. The report synthesizes the survey results of over 1,100 emerging nonprofit leaders across the country. The survey tested several recommendations for leadership development in the nonprofit sector.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Trish Tchume, first-ever director of YNPN National, and Amanda Pape Lenaghan, co-chair of YNPNsfba, and deputy director at Taproot Foundation, for a podcast interview on the report. The podcast is accessible through the GrantSpace multimedia archive.
